Terms of service

Effective October 1, 2026

By using Auto Care, you agree to these terms. Please read especially who is responsible for work on your vehicle.

Our role

Auto Care operates a marketplace where independent shops and mobile mechanics (providers) list services and customers can request and pay for those services. Auto Care is not a repair shop, mechanic, employer, agent, or supervisor of providers. A booking is an agreement for vehicle work between the customer and the provider, not an agreement for Auto Care to perform that work. Providers are independent businesses, not Auto Care employees.

Provider responsibility

The provider who accepts a booking is solely responsible for performing and supervising the service; inspecting the vehicle; diagnosing problems; setting accurate prices and service descriptions; obtaining required licenses, permits and insurance; following applicable laws and safety rules; supplying qualified personnel, parts and equipment; and addressing workmanship, damage, injury, warranties and service-related claims arising from its work. Providers must communicate directly with customers about the scope of work and any changes before proceeding. Auto Care does not control how work is performed.

Customer choices and safety

Review the provider's listing, price, qualifications and proposed work before booking. A requested date is not a confirmed appointment until the provider accepts it. If a vehicle is unsafe to drive, do not drive it; contact a qualified professional or emergency services as appropriate. Auto Care does not inspect vehicles or guarantee a diagnosis, result, completion time or provider performance. Report concerns about a provider to Auto Care and pursue service-related remedies with that provider.

Payments and disputes

The price and applicable platform fee are shown before payment; any applicable tax is calculated at checkout. Auto Care facilitates booking and payment, but processing a payment does not mean Auto Care performed or approved the work. The provider is responsible for resolving complaints about its work. Cancellation and refund rights are governed by applicable law and the terms presented at checkout; cancelling a booking does not automatically issue a refund. Contact us if you need help with a payment dispute.

Release and disclaimer

The marketplace is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Auto Care, its owners, officers and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, losses and damages of every kind—including personal injury, death, property or vehicle damage, faulty or incomplete work, and lost time or money—arising out of or related to any service performed by a provider or any dealings between customers and providers. All such claims must be brought solely against the provider who performed the work.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Auto Care will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, and Auto Care's total liability for any claim related to the marketplace will not exceed the platform service fee Auto Care received for the booking at issue.

Provider indemnification

Each provider agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Auto Care, its owners, officers and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, fines, legal fees and costs arising from the provider's services, workmanship, employees, parts, premises, vehicles handled, or violation of law or these terms. Providers must carry adequate liability insurance for the work they perform.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent allowed and the rest of these terms will remain in full effect.

These terms should be reviewed by local legal counsel before relying on them to limit liability.
